The message of the Kingdom of God is the most wonderful news that any poor, captive, blind, or downtrodden person could ever hear!
This is precisely why every poor, captive, blind, and downtrodden member of humanity and society needs to hear this “good news”!
This is also why every member of the thousands of man-made, man-organized, and fragmented churches needs to hear this “good news”!
To answer people’s questions amidst sickness, poverty, and hardship, the King of all kings sends people like you and me to tell them: REPENT, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS HERE—IT IS A REALITY!
When they turn around and repent, they also discover that, in the process of “turning around,” they must surrender all their clever answers, arguments, and plans from the past to the Lord!
They also discover that repentance is not a one-time event—something done once and then considered finished and complete. No, “repentance” is an attitude of the heart and a choice to seek God from this moment forward—to seek His heart and His presence within and around us—because without Him, and without His grace, we cannot live a life of purpose and meaning.
We discover what is written in Romans 8: that we are now children of God, and that His Spirit—God the Holy Spirit—dwells within us and is always with us. He wants to lead us and teach us what Jesus meant when He said that He not only gave us new life, but that—as we discover and seek the Kingdom of God—He Himself is present within us and alongside us, providing everything we need.
This is, after all, what Matthew 6:31–33 promises:
“So do not worry, asking, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ These are all things that the unbelievers concern themselves with. Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Instead, seek first the Kingdom of God and the will of God, and He will provide all these things for you as well.”
We will discover that the Kingdom of God is a reality within us.
Jesus, our new King, will be speaking to us constantly. We simply need to learn to recognize His voice and choose to obey it—unconditionally and immediately.
We will discover that He speaks to us in so many ways. Yes, even through our conscience!
If we allow Him to, He will teach us to critically examine every thought and emotion that arises within us—to discern which come from Him, and which originate from hell! We simply need to learn to allow Him to transform our thoughts and feelings—to make them new—as Romans 12:1–2 says:
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
When we choose to leave behind the old ways and say “yes” to God’s order and His will for our lives, we will experience the “life in abundance” that Jesus speaks of in John 10:10.
God’s Kingdom is truly good news; it is the only answer capable of effectively addressing and satisfying every need, hunger, and thirst in a person’s life.
