I am sharing with you tips from my own life and experience on how to be more aware of the Lord's presence in and around me. Here is a second tip in this regard.
Talk to the Lord all the time and always
Just listen to what the Lord says to us in His Word about this.
Let me tell you what I hear in a passage like 1 Thess. 5:16 to 25.
“Always be joyful.” And: “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is what God expects of you in Christ Jesus.”
I hear the Lord say that we can make a choice every day to trust His Spirit in us to teach us to look at our lives and what happens around us every day with new eyes and new glasses.
Then God's Spirit will remind us that the God we serve can use everything that happens in our lives for our good. If we look carefully around us, we will constantly see His hand working in and around us.
Therefore, every day there will be at least three things for which I can thank the Lord early in the morning, or late in the evening before I go to bed, for what He has done in my life and around me.
“Pray continually.”
Therefore, it is part of my daily discipline to constantly and intentionally talk to Him. After all, I now know that He is busy with me and in me every moment of the day through His Spirit.
As part of that, I then deliberately make time to praise and glorify Him while I worship Him as my Lord and Heavenly Father.
Therefore, I choose to remind myself that, as Psalm 91 says, I can literally sit in His presence and in His shadow, to also feel and experience His protection and His presence.
Every day, throughout the day, I can choose to tell Him again and again how much I love Him and that I choose to trust Him for this or that thing this day!
“Do not resist the working of the Holy Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test them all, hold fast to what is good, and avoid what is evil. May the God of peace make you completely devoted to Him, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will do this too, for He who calls you is faithful.”
As I constantly remind myself throughout the day that the Lord Himself is busy with me and in me, I also remind myself of His Spirit, who is busy with me.
Yes, God the Spirit is going to speak to me every day, guide me, and teach me. He is even going to use other people to speak to me and give me the Word. After all, the Holy Spirit's work is to finish what God has started in my life and to "sanctify" me until, finally, at the end of my life, I will be exactly who the Lord wants me to be!
"Brothers, pray for us also."
Talk to the Lord all the time. After all, He is always and constantly there with you and in you, before, during, and in everything you do. And while you talk to Him, also remind Him of other people and intercede for them in prayer.
The disciples of old had the privilege of being with Jesus for three years and of being able to talk to Him all the time.
In John 14, Jesus tells them that when He ascends to His Father, He will not leave His people alone as orphans. No, He will send God the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to come and live in each of His people 24/7 and to be with them always. He Himself, going into and through the Holy Spirit who lives in us, Himself being in and with each of us, always, 24/7!
Therefore, each of us as God's children has the glorious privilege of constantly reminding ourselves that He is with us and that we can talk to Him all the time and experience His presence, and hear His voice speaking to us.
