“Eternal life” does not just mean going to heaven! (Part 7)

Come, listen to another Old Testament prophetic word about this new season and what will happen in us through the working of God the Spirit.

May I be a little more personal?

This specific passage from the Old Testament has always been used by the Lord in my own life to keep a burning hope and expectation burning in me.

Let me quote it for you here too. And please, Man of God and follower of Jesus: Hear what the Living Lord Himself wants to say to you through this!

The passage is Ezekiel 37, from verse 1 onwards. It reads as follows:

“The power of the Lord took possession of me and brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley. The valley was full of bones. The Lord caused me to walk around the bones, and I saw that there were many bones in the valley and they were very dry.

Then He asked me: “Son of man, can these bones come to life again?”

I answered, “No, only you, O Lord my God, know.”

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Hear the word of the Lord, you dry bones! Thus says the Lord my God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will live. I will put sinews and flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and I will put breath in you, and you will live. Then you will know that I am the Lord.”

So I prophesied as I was commanded, and as I prophesied, I heard a rattling sound: the bones came together, each to its bone. As I looked, sinews and flesh came on them, and skin covered them. But there was no breath in them.

Then the Lord said to me, “Prophesy to the spirit, prophesy, son of man, and say to the spirit, ‘Thus says the Lord my God: Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’

So I prophesied as the Lord commanded me, and the spirit came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet. It was a very great multitude. The Lord said to me, “Son of man, all these bones are all Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up, our hope is gone, we are finished.’ Prophesy and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord God says: I will open your graves and bring you up from your graves, my people, and bring you back to the land of Israel. When I open your graves and bring you up from your graves, my people, then you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you will know that I am the Lord. I have spoken it, and I will do it,” declares the Lord."

Thus says the Lord God.
